We are sadly  to share  news about  W Willard “Sandy” Boyd Died, the University of Iowa former President Emeritus died on Tuesday, 13 December 2022, at the age og 95 years, Mr Boyd was appointed a Hawkeye faculty member at the UI College of Law. After a few years of practicing law, he became the college’s associate Dean and was elected vice president of academic affairs. During this time, Mr Boyd also chose the UI Foundation, now known as the UI Center for Advancement. He was the 15th president of the UI in 1969.

Relatives have made public the cause of his death. In an email sent Tuesday afternoon to students and faculty, Barbara Wilson, UI President, stated that Mr Boyd was loved by all university members. Many of Alumini, former student, and his close friend given the respected condolence onn social media according to sources his death was naturally and pacefully at home.

Mr Boyd was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota on 29 March 1927. The Univideoty of Minnesota awarded him his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws degrees. He earned his Doctor of Juridical Science degree at the University of Michigan in 1952. His wife and his children are his survivors. His wife was Susan Kuehn Boyd. Many people have paid tribute to him online since the news of his death was announced.
