A very sad news come out from Punjab a former Cabinet minister of SAD(Shiromani Akali Dal) party  Ranjit Singh Brahmpura died on 13 December 2022 at the age of 85 years. At that time he was a star leader for Akali Dal The announcement of his death was confirmed by the SAD leader Daljit Singh Cheema.

After hearing the news of his death too many people share their condolences for him and share their love for him toward his family. Many political leaders, including Chief Minister Bhagwant Man, party leaders SAD chief Badal, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Bikram Singh Majithia, and former union minister Harsimrat Khan Badal, expressed sorrow at the death of Brahmpura. Chief Minister Bhagwant Man expressed his condolences for the family.

How Did Ranjit Singh Brahmpura Died?

He was born on 8 November 1937 in Singapore and currently living in Amritsar, Punjab, India. He was a member of Parliament, Lok Sabha for Khadoor Sahib Constituency. He also won the Indian general election by being a Shiromani Akali Dal in 2014. He married Smt. Manjit Kaur, she was also passed away and had four children including Ravinder Singh Brahmpur is known as an Indian politician of Punjab. He was also known as the Majhe Da Jarnail which means that General of Majha in Punjab.

He was suffering from illness and passed away at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh on Tuesday. The cause of his death is pointed to the long time period of illness and this is confirmed by the SAD leader. His creation is going to be done on Wednesday at native Brahmapur in Tarn Taran District. Recently sometime before he was appointed as Patron of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) when the reconstitution of the core committee said by the party chief name Sukhbir Singh Badal.

This week, Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, the Punjab Minister, died in Chandigarh at 85. He was suffering from diabetes and coronary artery disease. He died at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research. On Wednesday, his body will be buried.


Brahmpura was an experienced leader of the Akali movement. He was four-time Member in Parliament and two-time Cabinet Minister. Before he resigned in October 2018, he was the Shiromani Akali Da (SAD), senior vice-president. He was a high-ranking politician and an aide to Prakash Singh Badal. He was also co-founder of Sanyukat a political party that aims to challenge for the top spot in the SAD.

For alleged anti-party activities, he had been expelled by the SAD. In December 2021, he was re-admitted back to the SAD. Parkash Singh Badal, the party’s chief officer, inducted him back into the SAD. Former Chief Minister and patriarch of the SAD praised Brahmpura’s “unflinching commitment” to panthic values.

He described him as a “symbolic representation” of Panthic values. He was an ex-SAD MP and was a member the core committee, which is the party’s decision making body. He was a member the SAD-BJP government of the state. From 2014 to 2019, he was an MLA for Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha. It is a huge loss for the state. It will also be a major loss for the SAD.
