Who Was Paula Mee?
Paula Mee, one of Ireland’s most prominent dieticians and food experts over the past two decadesn, was born in 1963. She was 59 years of age when she died. She was a former president of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute, the professional body for Irish dietitians. At the time of her death, she was a member of this institute. She was a well-known contributor to Irish radio, television and print media for nearly 20 years. The popular column was also written by the dietetic in The Irish Times.
Paula graduated from NUI Galway with a BSc degree in biochemistry in 1983. She then went on to complete her Postgraduation in dietetics at Leeds Metropolitan University. She became a licensed dietitian when she finished her Postgraduation. She established her own consultancy in 2004 and began her career as a Superquinn nutrition manager. She was also a Senior Nutritionist at the National Diary Council, and she also worked as a Clinical Dietician in several Northern Ireland hospitals.
The 59-year-old dietitian was also a lecturer at the master’s program in culinary nutrition at TU Dublin. She taught modules on nutrition assessment and human nutrition. She also wrote a book called “The Health Squad Guide To Health and Fitness”, in which she discussed the Traditional Mediterranean Diet getting a makeover. The book’s recipes are easy to find, simple, and inexpensive.
