Who was Lincoln Almond?

Lincoln Almond was known by his full name, Lincoln Almond Carter. He was born in Pawtucket on June 16, 1936. He was an American politician, lawyer, and member the Republican Party. From 1969 to 1978, he was the United States Attorney. He also served as the Rhode Island Attorney from 1981 to 1993.

He graduated from Central Falls High School, and then he received his bachelor’s from the University of Rhode Island. He met Marilyn, who later became his wife at his University. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he married Marilyn and then he received his law degree at the Boston University School of Law.


Lincoln Almond, a former governor of Rhode Island, has passed away at the age 86. He was a Republican Party member, a lawyer, and a long-standing politician. He was a member of the US Navy and graduated from Central Falls High School. He also received a Boston University law degree.

He was elected governor and helped to launch important infrastructure projects. These included the construction of Providence Place mall and the T.F. The Green train station, underground combined sewage overflow projects, and relocation of Interstate 195 were some of his achievements. He was also a champion for the Quonset Point business parks.
