Jengo Stevens was born in Moyamba, Sierra Leone on August 24 1905. His family relocated to Freetown at the beginning of the 20th century. He was employed at the Sierra Leone Development Company railway from 1931 until 1946. Then, in 1947, he began studying labor relations in Ruskin College. After working for the railway He was then elected as a member of the Protectorate Assembly.
Jengo Stevens’s father was the former president of Sierra Leone who served from 1971 until 1985. He was a politician from Sierra Leone.
